There's a scenario team that would like me to join them. But, they're requiring me to wear a vest and I HATE vests with a passion. Can daggers still function with a vest or am I just being picky?

Vests can be awesome! If you don't like having a lot on you, go with the Dagger vest. It holds tightly enough to your body and you don't have to put stuff in the pockets if you don't want to. If you can afford it, build it custom with only what you need. For a scenario team, though, you'll definitely want the ID pouch and probably the radio pouch. Again, if you don't want to have to have certain pockets on you all the time, get the interlock pockets.

They want me to order a Flurry Industry vest, not just a vest. I tried one on, and it restricted my movement and wasn't snug. Is it worth trying to convince them that I can't operate with a vest or should I just try and join another team?

That is a question only you can answer. Each person has thier own limis as to what "worth it" means.

Honestly, it is all up to you. If the team is forcing you to wear a vest, after you complain that it restricts your movement beyond an acceptable level, then obviously they are not a very good team to be with. A real team would understand each of the players needs and work with them, not just so they can "match". I say find a different team, one that will respect your wishes, heck, start your own team. It could be fun.

Daggers wearing vests specifically, however, I'm not sure. The most I ever wore was a pod pack. I really want to get a vest though, it can hold more stuff, and if it's for scenario, you might want to hold alot of stuff. Expect the unexpected.

Myself I can wear a vest or a pod pack. However the vest has to be able to fit me nicely. If a team wanted me to wear a vest that I was unable to be comfortable in I would not join the team. After all how effective would a player be if they felt their movements would be restricted because of the gear that they use?

Lose it.

I dont like vests either. I have a nice 4+5 Empire pack. When I go to scenario and stuff though I use a 4+1 with a Y harness so I can slip on radios and stuff and still be compact.

Play in what YOU want to play in -- because any player at any position benefits from tailoring his gear kit to suit his style of play and personal skill set -- but don't doubt for a minute that a vest is a viable and advantageous option for many Daggers.
Sigs aren't actually allowed on the Special Ops Forum, so I don't have one.

Well, if it were just any vest, I'd say it's not that bad and you should get one that works for you. However, since they're making you get a specific vest that you don't like, I'd say forget it. There are other teams, you don't have to be on one specific one. My team has no requirements other than the players must wear earth tones or camouflage.

Every time somebody shoots at someone who isn't wearing a mask, someone drowns a sack of puppies.
Every time somebody purposely overshoots someone, a dolphin is harpooned and eaten alive.
Every time somebody wipes, a family of bunnies gets run over by a Steamroller. That's why they have to reproduce so fast. Theoretically, that's how dinosaurs became extinct.

I hate vest as well, but why are they REQUIRING you to wear a vest? Sounds like they're more worried about matching than their players doing their best.

They want everyone to match so they appear to be a team. The 'team uniform' is grey/black paintball pants (they'd like if it was C4-C7 pants) and the Flurry Vest.
I did bring up this point to them, but they said they'd make an exception and just make me wear it at the begining and ending of the game....the two times where it's vital that I can move freely... :)

Another random question; how many of you paid a membership fee for your team?

They want you to conform to their look in spite of it hindering your performance. If it were me I would refuse their offer on the grounds that a) I've already got gear that I'm comfortable with and :dodgy: I'm not going to spend money for gear that is going to hinder my abilities on the field. Plus, I dislike being told what to do when it comes to how I look, act, etc. What I do on the field is another matter, I expect to be given orders and will follow them. But hindering my abilities on the field by forcing me to wear a certain vest or set of clothes is, in my opinion, stupid.

And I pay nothing to be a part of my team. We all pitch in when we need stuff, but only when we need stuff, not for the sake of collecting dues.

The membership goes to buying new gear...but the captain can make a purchase under $75.00 without asking for permission, anything over - he needs a vote.

I don't really like the way this team sounds like it is run, the captain can just go out and buy stuff he wants without asking? All of my team pitches in some for stuff we ALL can benefit from.

This team just keeps sounding worse. What it sounds like is the captain is a power-hungry jerk that cares more about himself then the team itself. Other people actually joined this team? I'd stay far away from these people, the only time you should ever pay money into a team is when everyone does it as part of a team budget, and they all have a vote on what to spend on the money. If the captain needs to buy stuff without the team knowing about it, then he should do it with his own money. You can buy a heck of a lot of stuff with $75.
