So, I'm a fan of using my ironsights, and while a paintball isn't as accurate as a 5.56 round, sights help somewhat with general aiming and a confidence boost. I currently have a Proto Switch, and can just barely let me see the sights with the CAR stock on the BT4. That, and the Proto lense is pretty much beat up.

So, I'm looking for a good mask with flexibility and that will allow me to use the sights on a BT4 Assault with some ease. Any other suggestions either than a Flex 8 or the Grill?

Thanks.

I have heard great things about the grillz, but not on flexibility, if you want something that is flexable i would go with the JT Proflex, go down to your local shop and get your hands on a couple of masks and try then on. Trying them on is really the best way to find what you like.

Tman - You've never seen Grillz have you? The whole lower part is a soft rubber that is very flexible.

Go to your proshop and try them on. It really helps in the decision.

The logos and plastic that jut into the lowers make them a lot less flexible than Flexes. Ha. The bottoms are also lipped backwards to help. The Flex8s are all hard.

They're both relatively small masks to me. The Flex 8 being smaller and covering less of my face. I do have a VForce Grill and as low profile as it is it still covers me fairly well. Plus the ability to change out or completely remove certain parts of the mask makes it very adjustable to fit the individual better. I also own a Switch and after buying the Grillz I haven't even taken the Switch back out of the goggle bag. But like has been suggested, the JT ProFlex is probably going to be the most flexible mask you'll find.

Flex 8s don't really live up to their name, they're actually quite stiff. I'd go with the grills or if you want to save some money, the JT proflex. I would suggest taking your BT with you if you go to a store and try looking down the sight with different masks on. Another one you could try is the Empire E-Vents, I just got mine and the sides are pretty flexible.

I've been checking them out, Grills seem to do the trick so far. EVents are flexible, but the way it fits on my head it's next to impossible to see the sights, let alone use it. Proflexes aren't sold at brick and mortars in my area, so I'll be making a judgment in a few days.

Alright, the local store ran out of all Grills except for white. Ended up buying from buypbl.com, decent service, they're overnighting the Grill to me right now, and I paid only for standard shipping.

Between a Flex 8 and Grill, I'd say Grill.
Now if it was Proflex/Flex 7 or Grill....I'd say both.

But I love my Grill. Changing lenses quickly for the win.

Got my Grill today. Canada post sent me an email that said they had knocked on my door, found nobody, and left a delivery slip. I was home the entire day, and didn't get a slip. The joys of lazy postal workers.

Anyway, I went down to the post office, picked it up, and tried it on. Comfortable, but still hard to use the irons. So knowing that for aiming my irons were a little low anyway, I drilled out the retaining pin that limits the sight's vertical movement, and moved it up higher, securing it with orings. Works lovely now.
