Tired of sweating it out in cotton BDU's, I found the spec ops fusion pants ...
Around $100, but they appeared to be of high quality and packed with useful features .
I'm 6'2" 180lbs. After some thought about price and size, I ordered a large .
The pants arrived and I tried them on .... WOW ! very comfortable ,great fit ....nice camo
So comfortable in fact, I just wore them around the house . Even got a "COOL!" from the girlfriend ...that's rare .
At bedtime I took them off and the zipper on the right leg just fell off ....
Yes, I know how to use a zipper .
Well ,undaunted we jury-rigged the zipper ... I figured I'd have a tailor repair that later , had a game in the morning .
I geared up ...and noticed the material is "noisy" ... not bad around the house but not good when you're trying to stalk with a pump gun... not that they can hear me , but I was paranoid they MIGHT.
Also wish there was a drawstring to tighten around the ankles .
On the upside I was perfectly comfortable all day ...not too hot, not too cold ,
I crossed a small stream and they just wicked the water away ... like I never got wet .
After the game ,had many comments; " Those are cool , were'd ya get 'em ? "
" I need something like THAT! , my blue tourney pants stand out " "Whoa digi camo !"
etc. etc .
Started to feel like a chick at the mall ...
Anyway ... 4 playing days later in the middle of a game ... the pants got loose ...
The nylon/velcro adjustable belt ...just broke .... one side first ...then the other side .
I have no idea how it happened ... the 5 times I played with the Fusion pants on,I carried a small 10rd tube harness and shot a pump ...I wasn't loaded down with my vest/tank /bladder and tons of paint ..
I wasn't doing any crazy bunker slides, slashing through the woods or extending running at ALL .. too old for all that .
Just trying to quietly close in and pick my shots .
So now ,I have a nice set of $100 pants that simply "fell apart."
Not the end of the world , as I'll probably take them to a tailor for repair , but I have to keep my markers, mask and other gear maintained ... PANTS are the LAST thing I should have to worry about .
back to my $ 7 surplus bdu's for now.
Take care all.
Note ** even though I'm only in my 2nd year of paintball , I have extensive knowledge in the
practical application , use and care of pants .
