I buy/sell markers whenever I feel like it. If I notice I don't use one, I sell it. If I see one I want, I buy it. Right now I'm trying to get rid of my DP IQ, my Phantom, and my 2k5 Empire Intimidator so I can pick up the new Intimidator coming out at the end of the 2009 season. I'll hang on to my Dark Alias.

I have sold guns before they had even arrived in my hands.

No option for me in there. I have no set time frame. I just see something shiny that i like and i get it. So however often that is.

This, except sometimes I can't get shiny things, and I'm sad. :( Something about not having enough pieces of green paper... :\

haha, I think if I like it A LOT then i might buy it if I have enough money. I will replace my main marker once it is total dinosaur, becoming obsolete and uncompetitive against other markers. You guys have good answers, keep it up.

Well it is not fair for me to vote on this poll because, I am a rare breed of paintballer known as a gun whore. I usually buy between 5 - 10 markers a year. Now not all these markers are new and most are used and selling for way less than there value. I just can't pass up a good deal. I don't keep most of the markers I purchase. I will buy them and use them once or twice and sell them off to people that can give them a better home and actually use them.

My main collection of markers at the moment consists of a high upped A-5 that I have had for 4 years now. A slightly upped A-5 that is a loaner, and an Angel 05 speed that is currently my baby.

i am ungodly hard on my gear.....even though i maintain them well......a marker i regularly play with wont last very long.....

most markers will last a little longer than a year until i NEED to replace my guns.......

I buy a new marker when I feel that my current one cannot be upgraded or has reached and surpassed its potential
I'm back, and this time for good.

You underestimated how many people trade multiple markers in under a year when you made the poll. I haven't even played paintball for a year, so I can't really vote, but once my marker has outlived it's usage, I'll trade it, however long that may take.

I started with an Ion two years ago. After a year of that i got a fusion. Then i got trilogy and a pump kit for it. Then A PGP 2k1. I am currently trading the Fusion for a SFT shocker, and the PGP and ion for a better sniper.

I voted 1 year, but I've gone through so many it's ridiculous. The only marker (and still shoot) that I have from when I started (close enough anyway) is my BE Cobra and that's unreliable at best, since you have to cut springs to adjust velocity.

I usually buy or trade for a new marker when either A) I break a marker beyond repair/ am too lazy too fix, sell a marker and need one to replace it, C) get bored with a marker and have money for a new one, or finally D) find/ stumble onto an un-passable deal (currently happening to me, haha).

I get a new gun when I feel like it. Last year when I had no money worries, I would get a new gun every week. Now that I'm going to college, its dropped to once or twice a year. The only gun that I've owned for more than a year, is my sniper.

Its not really a time frame for me. Its when I decide I want to get soemthing else or a really good deal jumps out at me. Id say on average maybe around every two years.
