This is what I am going to order for my MR1 to upgrade it and try to make it a sniper rifle:

-Smart Parts 20" Tactical Barrel
-Spyder Tactical Rail
-BT Bipod and Adapter
-ADCO E-Dot 30mm Paintball Gun Sight

Before I order this, does anyone have any opinions on this gear?

I would go with a 16" barrel instead.(But that is just me)

i wouldn't get the bipod or the 20 inch barrel....bipods r really for heavy gunners but if u think u wouldn't play with a bipod then go ahead and get it....the 20 inch barrel is overkill though...get a 16" one....it gives u the intimidation factor and at 16 inches its as accurate as its going to get

i was going with the 20" merely for the length to get through brush..the field i play at has very thick brush and i tried a 16" barrel but it wasnt enough

I use a 20" J&J on my MR-1, and love the extra "poke-through" it gives you. As for a bipod, pass on this... It's not very useful, and won't help "in the brush" at all. I'd go for a remote-line instead (coiled is ok as long as it's cloth wrapped to prevent snagging.). As for the rail & sight, try playing without them first, and then use that experience to tell if you think you'd do better with them. I've played a number of games with my MR-1, and I know that I need some kind of magnification, as I'm having difficulty determining if my shots are going where I think they are, at the far end of my range.

These are just my opnions, nothing more.

I honestly think your better off with a 14-16 inch barrel. The bipod I think will get in your way, If you are in a place opn enough for a bipod then you dont have enough cover. I have the tactical rail on my MR1 but I dont have good mask clearance. So I would suggest an off set rail to mount on your existing rail or you can buy an after market stock. As far a the red-dot scope, be careful, one good shot could ruin most of them.

to the 20inch and all the nonbelievers it is unbelievably effective
the smart parts tac which i believe is the one you said is awesome not only because it has the accuracy of a 16 or mabye even 18 incher but because its so well ported with Compressed air its almost silent.
no on scope get a red dot. its too hard with an accual scope to find the target quickly and who needs zoom and shots less than 50 yards
bipods are cosmetic and there for sniper heresay

i also have a mr1 and im upgradeing to a rocking trigger and an evo 2 just for the sticky situations
remote coil is a must
also the stock is quite annoying simply because its hard to get your mask close enough to see through the scope
i just took a hack saw to it so it just has the angled down and the sholder spot. no top

I have a Aero 16" (rifled) barrel. The Rifling in it makes it so much easer for me. If you need a quick fallow up shot its there on the same "hole" if you will. I m not sure if I m going to be adding any scope in the up comming season of 09 but I seem to be doing well with out one. I v ordered a new stalk, M4 stile. Let me know what your doing with your MR1 so we can talk and work out the bugs in our sniper MR1's and gear. But dose anyone know if there is a longbow tube mag upgrade for the MR markers? How about polishing bolts, dose it help or mith?

the MR1 already comes with one, if you really find it nessesary to get a new one buy a stock that is adjustible.

Well, I have an MR1 stock ( The original one..) and an adjustable one, but I find the Fixed one to get in the way alot, as in aiming a shot. The adjustable one I think is better.

As for the Red Dot... they are almost completely useless. The only good thing they do is intimidate.

For the 20" barrel, hell yes. Buy it. A 20" barrel isn't only more accurate, it will scare the poo out of your opponents.
Bi-Pods are cool, some are heavy, but if you get the right one, I find it helps alot to steady your shot. ( Obviously )

This is pretty much what everybody else said, thought i'd put my two cents in though...
