its like a combo between just about every position, well besides commander, its as stealthy and precise as a sniper, is as fast as a dagger, is as powerful as a hammer or broadsword, like a jack of all trades, its doubtful the name would be used, based on the others names, but the idea is very solid, good job

Your version of the Shock Troop is actually not a Shock Troop at all, because you basicaly described the Tactics of a Strike Team, which inturn means a Hit & Run Team.

i dont think he was looking for correct words like that, he just thinks it sounds cool, itll be something blade related, like the others if anything, like the gouge, or heck even the blade!

I think a shocktroop would be something like a gunner and sniper. He has stealth and can conceal himself. When an enemy squad walks into his view, he nails him with full automatic fire & tags 'em all! :P

 well my sniping partner on my team uses a DM7 , so this would make him a shocktrooper instead?

i've looked at the position list, and the only different position i can come up with is a 'medic' , but dividing snipers into the now ambush for semi/pump users and shocktrooper for electro , doesn't seem much different then the seperation between daggers and sabres, and in my opinion should be a canidate for being a new position .. i don't see much else filling the 3 empty spots.

thanks, SpecOps would probably call it the battleaxe or something. i dunno why they name all of their positions after medivil weapons

nope, if he is your sniping partner, he is is your spotter. most military spotters carry an M16A2 or an M14, so that would be normal. How exactly is the gun set up? id love to see it. As for the position, i dont expect SpecOps to adapt it. This is realy more of a playing style or Tactic. I agree with what you said. The positions are almost too closeley related.

now im pretty much what u would call a noob ive only been out maybe 15 times but when i do this is the playstyle i love , im new to s.o. and the dagger seemed the best supplement for my movement but daggers at the same time really arent supposed to be stealthy...are they. anyway great idea and perfect class

for a blade name, you could call it switchblade or tanto

I like the concept and it sounds very playable. I will say it might need a name change but the tactics are sound. this sounds like assault/fire support to me. shock troops would be more like an organized group of hammers with a comparatively light ammunition load(Just a case or so!). They would charge in straight guns blazing first to brake a line so supporting squads could envelope straglers. The shock troops don't stay fielded long as they lack the logistical support, are always ahead of supply lines and suffer high casualties. But nothing beats a good shock troop blitzekrig... nothing.

so.... many.... angry.... thoughts.....

ok... just for future reference, and take it from a professional....

next time one of you wants to suggest a position with contradicting attributes, why dont you at least TRY to wear the amount of gear being suggested and try it before posting.

i swear, i just saw the line"as fast as a dagger, and as powerful as a hammer"..... ok, now speed and firepower are contradictory. you want to shoot as much as a hammer, but move faster than a light jog? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

come on, at least keep it real.

dear God, surprised this was still on the first page.

I have been doing some more thinking over the past time since I posted this, and I really have taken to heart the Idea of a Shocktrooper being like the ODSTs or SPRTANS or the COGs in Gears of War. Insert quickly, make a lot of heck, and leave ASAP. pretty much a Hit and run player. As for the comment about having contradicting attributes, this really doesent. You dont need to carry two cases of paint on you to make yourslef a crippling nuisance to the other team. I have done it with less than a Hopper and a pod or two. In a way, teams of players with this style are a sort of Raid team. come from ut of seemingly nowhere, and cripple the opposition. by stabbing deep inside of his territory.

As I have gained experience, I have to say that the whole Position thing is kind of bogus. But, its always good to have specialiests. Thats what makes scenarioball, well, scenarioball. Before anyone tries to bash having positions, think about this: If a team or a group tries to play as closeley to the real deal as they can, positions are a must. Squads in the Armed Forces arent made up of all riflemen, they have Support Gunners and squad Marksmen, Commanders and sometimes entry specialists for Urban Warfare. Even in speedball, there are positions. backmna, frontman, mid fielder, and yet they try and bash scenario positions. Take scenario paintball for what it is: a scenario. a circumstance, an event.

I guess I'm a heavy shocktrooper lol. Dude next time we play again we should try to this tactic. Sneak then destroy.

the whole idea of a shock troop sounds good. Spydershots comment on Sneak then Destroy is good but i cant play that way. its more like destroy then sneak :)

Well, if this did work, and this became a position, due to the nature of the damage and havoc this thing could bring, you should call it: GUILLOTINE.
