something with trunk space would be a great idea for a college car.

You could always get a mazda 3 (or 6) now, then a 911 after college

I'm going to be a rebel and pick one that's not one of your poll choices. I say go with the Dodge Challenger. It's darn sexy. Chargers and 'Vettes are everywhere. It seems whenever someone hits their midlife crisis they grab a 'Vette. I agree with the previous statement that Porsche owners come across as jerks. It might be that the 3 Porsches in this town are owned by arrogant jerks. So I'm a little biased.

Out of those choices I would say get a Corvette. If 75k isn't unreasonable for you then get the Z06. I would say get the ZR1 but list price on those is going to be somewhere in the 107k range. The Z06 actually gets decent mileage if you can learn to accelerate properly in it and keep your foot out of it (estimated at 25 highway/18 city mpg last I looked). That's actually better mileage than my Chevy Colorado is supposed to get. You could wait until the sexy Z28 is released. It's supposed to be a 500+hp beast and it'll be cheaper than the Z06. I'm a Chevy kinda guy if you haven't caught on yet.

Other than a Chevy I would look at an Aston Martin or a Mercedes AWG (Mercedes performance division). Those are about the only foreign cars that interest me, plus they aren't as common as some of the other Euro cars.

Also, just a warning. If you're driving a car that nice on a college campus, chances are it's going to get messed with.
I know all the nice cars I see around here get bottles tossed at them when some group is stumbling back from a party. Can't say I haven't done it too :dodgy:

Depending on what college your going to, you might have to live on campus. If so, I would definitely not buy such a nice car. Wait till you own a house and have a garage, then buy one.

If hes got the money why not spend it? He will only help boost our economy  On the same note, I would go with a Porsche rather than a Chevy. Last I checked Chevy wasnt doing to well and lately American made cars have been crap...Dont get me wrong Corvettes are nice cars but German engineering is definitely the way to go. Porsche's are very smooth rides and they will always have you looking fresh!

yes, because he certainly wouldnt be helping support the company contracted to transport the car, nor anyone at the dealership where he buys it, nor the people at the dealership when he has to take it in for maintenance. There is absolutely not a single solitary american who will get a dime off of him if he buys a foreign car. not one.

Oh. My bad. I though it was those American companies who weren't selling enough cars that were hurting our economy. How silly of me.

And it was a simple joke, way to overreact.
