So I have my SC phantom that I've had forever... with the standard 11" barrel. I had one phantom with a 13" barrel, and I definitely noticed the extra 2" when I was playing tight to a bunker. I can't remember if I ever felt it was in the way, but it was noticeable... All my other phantoms (which have been short term ownership) were standard 11" models.

I have a new phantom coming in, but Mike only had matching barrels in 8" and 13". The 8" I can still use the large pump handle from what I can tell, it will just barely extend past it. The 13" of course will be fine. I didn't know what I wanted, so I got both.

Overall I've been happy with the 11", I'm curious what people have felt who have tried other barrel sizes than the 11"- especially if you've swapped barrel sizes on the same phantom. Just general opinions...

It's an SC setup with an L-stock, if that adds any insight.

The only time I have ever changed from the 11" was during our indoor pump league.
CQC play with many doors and windows...lots of corners.

Even then I found myself going back to the 11. I am just to comfortable with it to change.

Hmm... possibly different with a pump (I have only used 11" on Phantom) but first time I got to play with my Tac One Longbow, it was an indoor speedball field. 18" barrel and 20 round springfeed, did just fine. Wasn't trying to bunker people too often but snap shots weren't difficult at all.

I use 14in barrels almost exclusively. I use a 14in Frantom currently, and I have two more 14in barrels on the way. I've always like that length, it's comfortable for me.

With the Phantom. I go back & forth between 11" and 14". I generally use the shorther barrel when playing with an air tank & hopper & use the 14" when playing stock class...mostly.

As with stuntman, I switch off between 11 and 14 usually.

Wife has 11" and i belive it is a 6", but may be 8". She only uses the 6", never touches the 11". Just easier for her since she is so short, nice and tiny and compact. Not as good in speedball if you like to wrap around a bunker, but quick to turn and spin with. And the pump goes out to just about the end of the barrel. Just big enough to get the job done.

Personally i like 10"-12" barrels. No longer, can deal with shorter, but prefer in that range.

I use 12" and 6", 11 for woods usually, 6 for urban and air. Feels a lot more natural for me.

EDIT: I can't use a ruler correctly apparently. Or remember my own set-up either. :/

Hide in shame from my lack of aim! - Pump Member 112 (It's been over 2 years, okay?) ...blah dropped to 54% shot efficiency.
I'm back from a long long long time of no paintball, drooling over markers older then I am.

I use a 14". I prefer longer barrels. You loose a bit of efficiency, especially if its ported, but the longer barrels seams to point better to me. I learn how they aim a lot faster than with shorter barrels.
