I just got a used 06 SFT and I don't think it was tuned properly by the last owner. It has a Dynasty board in it and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for dwell.

What type of noid do you have?
Black = parker= about a dwell of 30
Silver/white = humphrey= dwell of about 40
then just go and play from there

Here are a few settings used by team Dynasty,from Rodney,that myself have had great results with.Since you feel your Shocker was not tuned right to fit your needs.

Debounce (green) a safe setting is 2-3 blinks.
Dwell (purple) 12 - 14 blinks for the Parker Noid / Humphrey noids between 14 - 16 blinks
AMB (blue) set this at 3 blinks
ABS (red) between 5 - 6 blinks reduces or eliminates FSDO

Now these settings work great in the 6.1 version software,and I think the only difference between the older version and 6.1 that concerns your year Shocker is the AMB setting where it has between 1-5 blink settings where the older version did not. And being your SHocker is an 06,in a perfect world yours should have came out with a Humphrey noid. Hope this helps you,I know it has for many Shockers I have tuned.

Best thing to do is optimize the dwell for your particular gun, rather than rely on someone else's settings. Bolt, o-ring wear, solenoid model, etc., can all affect what is the best dwell for your gun.

The Shocker NXT manual explains how to optimize the dwell setting for your gun (works the same for an SFT) and you can download that from SP's web site.

I also go through the proceedure in this video on the NXT, at about 30 minutes into the vid, in the section on electronic adjustment:

Pretty much, most everything in that video applies to the SFT as well, since the markers are so alike.
