The Official Ion .VS “X” Thread

This thread is for people put Ion against other markers, and for other forum users to say which one is better.

1. Pick another marker you want to compare to the Ion

2. Compare and rate or show which one is better. Can be done the good old fashioned way with the “<,>,and =”.

3.Only rate or compare if you know what you are talking about. We don’t want some person coming in and going:

Quote

The ion sucks it breaks after every shot, it never runs, cheap parts, made of plastic and looks dumb
M98 > Ion

I don’t want to see any of that crap.

It should go like this:

Quote

Ion > Spyder Imagine

Or

Ion is better then the Imagine for a few reason. First off the Ion is lighter, and smaller then the Imagine. It also is much more quite and has less recoil. Plus the Ion is electro-pneumatic and the Imagine is a blow back…

So use common sense and lets be civilized about this okay.

Can we use this thread to ask for comparisons? If so, can someone, who knows what they are talking about, compare the ion to the promaster. I mean... in great detail.

Yes, yes we can.
I have not fully used a promaster yet, but there were things i didn’t like about it, mostly the trigger, lpr, and the feel of the frame.
I can do a full detailed review of both if you guys need it in a few weeks.

Kamikaze Snipa I would say pm4, just because it has more quality.

Unless you want me to comapre to my ion... :P

Here is what i know from the both. There regs arnt that good but the promasters is better. The promaster board has more modes and uses a diferent system to change them. I felt both and both are very lite and the promaster comes with a better stock barrel, it also comes with qevs. The down side is its not that modular since you can get bushy feeds, cocker barrels, new reg,new bolt, new valve, and a grip but lasoya stuff should add alot more ups. Its easier to clean since its popet. Both get about the same eficiency acording to pbnation. Both feednecks arnt the best and both you will need sanding. A promaster is about 370 and you can get a bottom line kit for 20 and thats 390. Pbnation has a guy who sells them cheaper but i can not talk for or against them so i will keap it with what i know. On the promaster reg there will be an ok sticer that means the reg is good and not dead. The ion is cheaper and for 100 to the ion you can get a better barrel than the pms and a better reg like the evolve reg. BOth bolts are good stock you can increase eficiency on the ion slightly easier since there are better after market bolts and firing cans. I had the same hard time and i bought an ion and this is all the stuff i found out i hope this helps.

i dont see whats so good about an ion it seems to me like a expensive spyder but ive never used one so i dont really have a right to comment but i do like that it has changable body kits.

fenix vs. ion

ion-lighter more gas efficient faster rof eyes can get new bodys has regulator ion is elctrophneumatic marker

fenix-has reg acs bolt e trigger but there capped out at 14 bps and the reason for this is that its a blowback stacked tube design

ion>fenix

The ion isnt like a spyder at all its a blow forard desighn thats like an automags and a spyder is a stacked tubed blow back there comletly different. Like stated before ion>spyder fenix.
Ok a comon one a5 vs. ion
Ion>a5
Ion is lighter more gas eficient, smaller, interchangable shell,ep,less kick, has reg,has eyes.
egriped a5 has cyclone feed is blowback 1 lb heavier, more mil simable. Neads double triger.
Both are pretty reliable but its stupid to do with any marker to put it in a pond or smash it in a tree.

basically everyone, if you compare the ion to anything about the same price range or lower, its gonna kick its butt. its highly upgradable, light, fast(17bps is not exactly slow people) and the quality is awesome. you can say what you want about the "cheap plastic"(but actaully durable composite) shell, thats just to protect internals. Its a high end marker without the high end price tag. But obviously most true high end markers are gonna be nicer, derrrr. DSF, I'm glad you made this thread, maybe some people will stop bashing the ion now.

Why would they stop? It's not a Tippmann and it has electronics...most peoples mind's thats two strikes already, they just make up a third usually something to do with durability or reliability and then they think the Ion is the most retarded marker ever.

But those of us who own one know better don't we :o
