Welcome to the forum. We need to know a few things first.

What's your budge.

Are you looking for a unique style like the Apex or Flatline?

Are you asking for barrel kits?

What paint do you run -- bore size -- or do you play with different paint?

Use the search application for some other threads while you're waiting for some answers here.

The best performance for the cheapest is a J+J, and I'd say a step up is an SP Linear, I was very impressed with it's performance. I think the ultimate is a stiffi or brass from PPS, but that's just my opinion.

Like an above poster, I too would recommend the J&J Ceramic line of barrels for general woodsball--they just give plain old great performance at a decent price. I have had luck with the Smart Parts Tactical line of barrels as well.

If you do a search for Apex you will find more information on that barrel than you could ever really need:P In short, however, the Apex barrel is a 9" barrel like the one that comes stock with an A5, with a plastic shroud on the front. Inside that shroud is a rubbery-plasticy tongue that can be adjusted with a notch-button to put more or less backspin on the paintball, thus giving increased distance, like a Flatline.

Additionally, the should rotates around the barrel, allowing you to curve shots to the left, right, scoot them along the ground or to have them suddenly drop, dive-bomb-fashion, at about 100' or so.

I have an Apex and love it. My only complaint is that because its on a poorly-ported, 9" barrel, its not overly accurate and very loud. You can buy an adaptor that allows you to move the shroud to any standard-muzzled barrel.

Hope that helps,

J&J Elite Barrel Kit for the A5. I used it on my X7 and it rocks like you wouldn't believe.

It's been the best barrel I've ever had, and it works like a charm.

Just my 2 cents.

The two best barrels out there if you ask me are the St!ffis and the PPS brass.

I bought the ops gear G36 body kit for the A-5 and the darn thing is so heavy I rarely use the whole thing.
The barrel however is GREAT! and yes I'm yelling. It seems to shoot straight even with the cheapest paint.
It also has a kinda ringing sound to it... its loud. Non ported just the way I like it. You deffinatley don't want to fire it next to your teammates head.

Just get yourself a 12" J&J Ceramic barrel and put the Apex on it. Total length will be 15". Total cost about $100.00.
