Frankly I dont care who is Pres after this election, Im more interested on the future Congress and Senate. Im more worried about certain high ranking members of both legislators in both parties that I think need to go. I am distrought that I cannot vote out Pelosi, Bonner, Mitch, that guy some South Carolina or franlky anyone from another state whos face I can recognise more than my own representative.

Now to keep with the thread subject, I feel that between the two identical canidates for pres I have to vote for the better looking one and since Im not into dudes I think Its going to be a thrid party or Paul if he runs.

I suspect that Obama will serve a second term...

Im ok with this. Not enthusiastic, just ok. Its not that I especially like the Democrats, but I have several serious problems with the direction the conservative Right is going these days.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how things swing in congress. Right now everything is at an impasse. I think that if Romney wins, both houses will swing more republican. If Obama wins, I think we'll see more deadlock because I doubt that with his victory would come a swing in congress towards the democrats.

I agree. I think they've swung too far away to do any good for anybody but themselves.

I'm writing in Ron Paul, unless I decide to just vote for Gary Johnson, since he's on the ballot in every state anyway...
Screw it, I'm writing in Henry Rollins.

My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

I think it is sad the number of people who are supporting Romney just because he's not Obama. As if Romney will somehow be better. It is too bad that Romney is the republicans' 'best' candidate. Have you seen him on TV and listened to him talk? He's as stupid as Bush. And what's worse, he's a puppet the same way Bush was. He has no thoughts of his own. Or, he ignores his own thoughts and replaces them with what others tell him to say. Obama is a populist? So is Romney.

i agree, although I did like Bush (but it's not worth the argument honestly...I mean if you really want to we can, but point being I liked him) However, I don't want to vote for a president just because he is the lesser of two evils. However, I also think that there is going to be a problem this year, in that a lot of peopl are going to vote for a 3rd party...but not enough of them to actually get Ron Paul or any other canidate elected, but merely enough to possibly leave Obama in office...now do I think Romney is a better choice, I'm not really sure...I havent looked into his policies enough yet...

I would have to disagree. You are probably too young to really remember the 2000 elections between Bush/Gore - one of the few times when a 3rd party candidate was actually able to be a genuine "spoiler". Nader, with the backing of a strongly motivated & fairly well funded Green Party, was able to pull in a solid 4-5% of the vote. Since these were almost all Hard Left votes, his campaign took all those votes from Gore, effectively costing him the election and allowing Bush to win by less than 1% .
No current candidate or potential candidate - even Paul - can pull those kinds of numbers this year. The polarization between the camps this year just doesn't leave any room for a 3rd party.

-----

For the record I predict an Obama win by a solid 10% of the popular vote and at least 40 points in the electoral college.
Im ok with this, as the consequences of a GOP victory are almost too horrible to contemplate.

At this point, I get the impression the GOP wants Obama to win. They basically gave the election to him on a platter. Unless he royally blows something huge, then "campaign contributions" to Romney would be better spent on Scotch, "assault weapons" and ammo.

But face it. Romney or Obama, we're boned either way.

Accept it. Get out the KY. It's gonna be a long 4 years.

I dunno, I know in NY I have heard a CRAPTON of people say they are writing in Ron Paul...and if it's that way around the country...I think it's possible it could effect the outcome of the election. I could be wrong though...

and i'm not THAT young.

I wish we would elect a third party person. This business of two parties with polar opposite POVs with no middle ground? It's like a choice between black and white (don't make it racial). A third potential candidate that could actually get elected could help gray it up a bit.

Stuntman... You're that old... Wow.
