Those were some fun days though.

Yes, they were haha. To much fun. Been way to long since I've been paintballing too. Need to dig up my gear.

If I recall correctly, Slinky's dot was often used as a one character agreement mark. A member would post a comment, and those who agreed with it would quote the comment and add only a single period. Often there would be a slew of members in agreement, and many multiple quotes would stack with just that one lonely period.

I'm not sure I know why it was part of Slink's signature, however.

Oh, and the TDF did get quite heated. Which is why it was short-lived. But it was fun while it lasted. :)

The dot was simply because I found that the "edited by" comment cluttered up the post and made things hard to read. (Slight dyslexia.) So the dot broke up what I posted and the "edited by" lines up. When I became an admin I no longer have that line by default. So I ended up stop using the dot.

Btw it was 2 returns and a dot.

I remember only posting in that a few times. A couple were in response to a several page discussion, and a couple other posts started the several page discussion.

I remember a time with ZAPCONJ was an admin before some crap went down and he never showed his face in the PB scene again. Hell, I remember when there were under 100 people here, and the top discussion of the time was the brand new SO Razorback.

Haha I forgot about that. That weekend is still probably the best weekend I've ever had. Definitely the best trip I've ever been on. Nothing 1ups a paintball story like "Yea well I was at Elite Weekend and got strafed by a helicopter door gunner." I got to meet all of you guys, setup an ambush with Greg Hastings, see how short 8-Ball is, and clowning Insane Clown Posse's car was pretty fun.

Right, but even then there was more PB traffic.

I remember this too. In fact, I have the picture from the truck somewhere. I also remember;

you SHOT the PILOT!?

And shooting that guy in the mask, causing him to cough up blood. Funny story about that. Back in 2009, 2yrs after EW, I was on leave back home in Jersey. I went to the now defunct NJ Nam event and bumped into that guy. He was even playing on the opposite side of me. However, I was a medic that game and didn't shoot a single ball all weekend.

Haha I HAVE to see that. There were a lot of good moments from that weekend, from 1-i's hug kill to DURKA DURKA! Or I'm the pilot!

Some of you may, or may not recognize me. When I joined the Brigade and forums I was a kid (12 or 13), so I was a little immature the last time you guys saw me around.

I remember playing and being able to find all sorts of small local fields back then. And I mean back far enough to remember when SO sold hard goods, and the Elite Weekend was a thing. I never got to go because well I was a little young.

I haven't played paintball in two years now, even after moving from Seattle to Southern California. This was well after the economy tanked and all the fields near me began closing shop, and people stopped playing. Eventually it got to the point where nobody would even show up. SO then I moved from Washington to California. I got in to airsoft for a little while and eventually left that because it just wasn't the same. It never gave me the same feeling I had when I played paintball.

I was looking through all of my old gear because I'm off to college in the fall and I wanted to see what I wanted to and not to bring. I eventually got through to my SO Vest that I made on the custom vest maker, a mid riflleman(?) brigade patch, Brigade Dog-tags, and a box of unused and undisturbed SO paint grenades.

I've noticed the forum decline. I still log in once or twice a year to make sure my account is still active, just in case I guess. I miss those days where we had 300-400 members on at any given time. Something was always ahppening.

Maybe it's time to get the dust off and go play again.
I'm back, and this time for good.
