I had to write this because I believe that my Recon vest is one of the best investments I've made in paintball. Here's a quick review...

The vest fits soooo snuggly with the belt keepers, waist band and zipper. You can't even feel it when you run. Also, it doesn't get in the way when you crawl. I'm a tallll guy (6'4) and I play front a lot and it's been awesome when I have to make a quick run. No sloshing.

It fits four pods with the possiblity of adding an extra two pods or a vertical tank. Plenty of paint. There's also a radio pouch, two grenade pouches and a big extra pouch. It also holds a camelback. It also has two d rings which I clip my mask to very often.

The mesh is super cool. Enough said.

Basically this vest rocks. I love it and don't know how I lived without it. Buy one, it'll serve you well and then some.

Incisions.

Not really a need, is there? The SpecOps store has lots of them.

Yes the recon vest is a very good vest. Anyone who likes to play stealthy but sometimes needs a good amount of paint should take a look at this vest

I also bought a Recon6 and got it in the mail yesterday. What are the two long straps for in the front? Do those attach to your belt?

they are to clip your mask or gun onto the vest so you don't have to hold it. I always clip my mask on when i'm not using it, but i can't imagine those straps holding my gun

They'll hold it... clip my gogs to the left side strap and hang my marker (A5 w/air-thru stock & flatline) from the right side... works great...

Used mine all last summer and loved it... have my tank in the center back (I run remote)... overall completely happy with my purchase...

I have a recon 6 vest to and i love it.I even forgot to use the inside strap belt thing at a 6 hour scenario and it still fit pretty good. The only bad thing is to add a air tank pouch is 35 bucks but other then that it is an all around good vest. ;)

I have a Recon 6 vest as well and its a great thing to have.
If you buy the straps that go with it and you have a M4 stock
on your A-5, the buckle on the shoulder holds your gun real good.
