My first idea was to base my rifle off of a Tippman Custom Pro, because I like the way it looks, feels, and shoots. I had planned to get a Stiffi 16" barrel for it, a collapsable stock (Tippman, of course), and mod that stock to accept a Rocket Cock 2 so I could quiet down my action. I was going to use the Q-Loader system so I could get rid of my hopper, add a red-dot sight on a raised sight rail, and I was going to go remote.

However...

I was cruising the SpecOps articles and I saw the Longbow. Now there were a couple things about the Longbow that made me not want to get it. First, was the 18" barrel; I wanted to play with a sixteen inch. Second, was the twenty round magazine. I really had my heart set on a Q-Loader. But when I saw the Q-Bow variant of the Longbow, that beautiful sister gun to the perfect sniper rifle, I almost died. It was everything I was looking for!

Horizontal feed, and therefore a completely unobstructed view so I could mount my sight right to the top. It has an air-through butt-stock, so it's slightly more convenient than the Tippman collapsable stock I was going to use on the Custom Pro. It fits a 16" barrel quite nicely, and it uses a Q-Loader!! The more I looked at it, the more it looked like my Holy Grail.

So...

Now I don't know what to do. Tippman has a reputation for high-quality products, and I doubt a Custom Pro would let me down. But the Q-Bow is everything I'm looking for and more! And... it looks incredibly bad-@$$. Obviously, the Q-Bow is going to cost me quite a lot more than a Custom Pro, but I don't sacrifice quality because I'll have to be a little more patient getting it. I'm perfectly willing to wait and save my money.

I don't know what to do!! Help!

I set up a poll so you can easily voice your oppinion, but any comments are welcome and appreciated. I value your point of view!!

AGD has an even better reputation than Tippmann for quality...

"Surprised you didnt know that" -Tommy Boy

The Tac one is a great marker, and you can also change the parts around with centerfeeds, warpfeeds, and pretty much any body that AGD makes can fit on the Tac One.

Recently AGD has even started to make a Warp Tac One body. meaning the feed is out the side, Probably ideal for q-bow setups...

sounds like you've already made up your mind.

with that being said, both guns (I'm not too familiar with the Q-Bow to be honest) are good guns. I don't think either decision is a bad one.

no one can tell you which gun you're going to be the happiest with except you.

go with the Q-Bow or else you will always be wondering if you made the right decision.

Meatwad: Master Shake told me to go in the freezer, because there was a carnival in there. There was no carnival, it was a damn freezer. I got freezer burn, and I got mushed up against that chicken.

Thanks people. I appreciate all the input and even just with ten votes, the poll is fairly clear.

It looks like I'm gonna start saving for a Q-Bow!

Q-bows cost a fortune more than the Custom pro. However, if you have the money for the Q-bow, go for that all the way. AGD has an even better rep than tippmann for quality.

if you're liking the Q-bow, have you seen the Blackcell Sniper? the core marker is not as high-quality as the Mag at the heart of a longbow, but it gives you the same sniper setup in a lighter, les obscenley priced package

That's an awful big gap there...is this your first gun?
I'd still go with the Q-Bow, but if this your first gun then no way.You really have to be a sniper at heart and be experienced to buy the Q-Bow, a noob starting in the high end marker range just isn't right.

I disagree. I personally think that the Q-Bow shouldn't soely be a sniper gun. It is like a really high end A-5A2 with 100 less paintballs and no foregrip. Just if the hopper holds less than 200 rounds and the gun has a low profile shouldn't automatically make it a "sniper gun". A sniper gun can be anything in my opinion, but in my eyes, I think that the Q-Bow could fit the position of Sniper or Medium Rifleman. Alpha Sniper should tell us if he has played with either of these or at least shot them and lastly if he has had any experience playing like a sniper. If you did choose the Q-Bow in the end, i would just get the base tac one and figure out what you like to do when playing and then build off of that.

A high end a-5? It has an integrated regulator, a blow forward design, is quiet, and the ASA and hoses are mounted different. The A-5's hose mounts in front of the trigger, has to have a special kit to mount regs, a very loud gun, and is a blow-back design.

Any gun can go to just about any position, its the player behind it.

Go with the AGD. Quieter, more reliable, and much easier to care for. You will jsut need HPA.

First off, there is no point in trying to use the "best" sniper marker unless you are using the best propellent choice. Use HPA. Period.

Secondly, look at the noise report form each marker. The Custom Pro is loud. The Tac One under that Longbow is very very quiet.

The Custom Pro's shot pressure is regulated a single time for each shot, where as the X Valve in the Tac One double regulates the pressure, making for better shot-to-shot consistiency. That improves accuracy.

The barrel that comes with the Q Bow (whatever one it is) is garunteed to blow away the stock Tippy barrel. Ewwww.

Airgun Designs products are just as reliable as the Tipopmann products, only they use WAY less moving parts, and parts in general.

The Automags Online website is ten times more helpful then the official Tippmann forums (Im sorry, but it is so true).

I can go on, but the Tac One (Q Bow) is a way better choice. I agree about the 18 inch barrel being too long, so just call customer service at Spec Ops and see if they can hook you up with a 16 inch. They are pretty easy going and helpful. If you want the right tool for the right job, go with the Bow.

When you get tired of sniping, take off the Longbow parts and put yer tank on the marker and a hopper. You now got one of the most high end mechanical paintball guns in the world. No, the Bow aint just for sniping.

I have used each in my experience, and now use the AGD Automag "Snipermag" pattern. It uses basicly the same marker and the Q Loader. Nothing else is like it.
