I am currently trying to set myself up to be a great ambush sniper. I have played the position a lot before however, I've found a hopper gets in the way and makes it harder to stay concealed.

I have been trying to decide between a Longbow (with 2 extra mags) or a Q-Bow without extra pods.

I can't decide so i am asking you to help me out..

Just to give you an idea, what I normally do is wait by trails or in an area where groups or players may show up in an attempt to flank, I wait in the most likely place for them to come through and then I take them out. I do not take very long shots yet I do find my self bellycrawling quite a bit.

So which setup will be lighter and more convenient as an ambush sniper, Longbow or Q-Bow?????!?!? :(

There is a HUGE thread on this in the Sniper HQ Section.

Check it out :(

And Longbow is going to be lighter, but it depends on how many people you will be playing against if you want to use a Q-bow

I use a Spec Ops Ion Q Bow with a 16" SP Tactical Barrel. I like to flank and ambush as well. Problem with a Longbow is the limited rounds available. Trust me, you get more than 2-3 peeps coming around the corner, you will want the Q-Loader setup.

Ok Here are the pics...1st one is of the feed tube to the adpator for the Q-Bow set up. There have been some threads on mounting the pod to the rear of the marker. I found a problem with that bc you will have a certain numbers of pballs in the feed tube when you pod goes empty...shorter the tube=less pballs. Also I went with a NC Star Red/Green open sight...why? Unlimited amount of eye relief helps when you are wearing a pb mask. I used a AR15 mount riser that you can buy on Ebay for around $20 to give me the height I needed to clear the butt stock with my mask on. Scopes have a limited amount of eye relief plus the open sights make for a quick snap when you have tangos in your sight. Pic #2 gives you a better view.

Pics #3,4,& 5 is of a Ion project that I am working on. I want to use the Q-Loader CMS upgrade and the RIS rail adaptor so I can put the pod on the right hand side of the marker. This will make it almost a direct feed system with still line of sight and using another NC Star open sight. I had to use (2) sight riser to get the clearance I needed for my pb mask. I hope these pics help...

QPods are considerably longer and wider than other pods.

They fit the SpecOps range of pod holders, but for any other you need to ensure to allow for width if elasticated that it will stretch wide enough, and if not elasticated that it can be loose for a 140 pot, and to allow for length there should be a long velcro closure, or that the 'end' of the pod pack is either open or elasticated and strechable.

I usually play with MOLLE but have an Empire 4 + 5 and a NXE 4 + 3 pod packs.
I (think) it was the NXE that will hold Qods but with a lot of stretching overnight etc.
