I recently got this DVD and while it was a high quality dvd and very well put together with great cinematography I don't think it was all that great.

Don't get me wrong since I am a visual learner it put more into perspective what i have read on the site, but the fact remains none of the information is already in all the articles.

However, if i am correct this is an overview for the rest which is cool.

I suggest people get this if they are visual learners or just plain want to support Spec Ops. If you learn better from reading then it might not be for you.

Now, I am going to buy every DVD that comes out because I want the whole series of DVD's so I can learn. I personally suggest people do this because I have a feeling if you do this you will learn a lot.

Overall I give the product a 7/10 for good qaulity work and a great overview for woodsball.

I got it about a week ago. I'd give it 8 out of 10. It's a great basic education on positions, equipment, and tactics. Very well shot. Extas on the Battle of Bauer and the SpecOps tour were great. Great for getting other people into woodsball. I showed it to 2 of my brothers and my brother-in-law. They were pumped. My only complaints are that its way to short (about 25-30 min) and there needed to be much more in the way of tactics/unit movement. I have to admit the gruff radio talk makes me laugh every time I see it too. :)

Yeah the radio talk is lame. The main video is only 13 minutes long, and it's soley THE BASICS. It'd not meant to be indepth, or new in anyway. It's just an introduction to our style of play. That's why it's only $9.99. (most of that price goes to DVD replication, print, case, and the time it took to make. Also this was the very first video I made for special ops, and I made it over a year ago. Since then I did Fear the Sniper, which is way better, but it still has problems. The content is in-depth for paintball sniping.

Finally after a year I'm comfortable with paintball and the culture. The next two DVD's I'm making this summer will be in a whole new leauge. Thank you for the compliments, for the record.. I agree the first one is a little pre-mature.

I can't wait for the broadsword dvd I'm kind of feeling like a crack head twitching in a corner waiting for a fix

I think I can speak for most people on these forms when I say we're very excited to see more of your videos come out! They're essential, powerful stuff in establishing a brand, as well as defining the woodsball "movement." I certainly connected with them after a hiatus from the sport—brought on because I was sick of tourney-style ball. I hope you get a chance to do some lifestyle videos in the future too (beyond the ads). Woodsball is a niche that's just beginning to be explored... Sorry, spoken like the true marketing guy I am. I should say it's the way most want to play the game (70-80% by some accounts), but haven't seen it represented in polished, high-tech media like the tourney side of things until SpecOps and you came along. Kudos...

I showed the video to two people that knew nothing about paintball and are now very motivated to play. Problem is one is recovring from a torn ACL so he can't play till september. Just goes to show what i was thinking and was confirmed that it is for people whom know nothing about woodsball.

I would like to eventually see specialized videos for each position. Probably in the neighborhood of 40-50 minutes. With breakdowns ofd equipment, tactics, and how they are used in the team. It would simplify my job when I recruit new players.

The basics DVD is perfect for getting everyone excited about it and giving them ideas about what they would like to try out.
But I would like to see DVDs for each position to help them advance their skills off the field.
thanks

Why are you bumping this topic? lol.

FYI, we have plans to make more DVD's but the TV show has taken priority for the moment. The plan is to have the Dagger and Commander DVD's out by fall/winter, and yes they will be much longer. No gaurentees though.

Looks like you guys got caught up huh? No biggie. I just remember somebody "DEWY" :) saying something about a commander and dagger DVDs last year.

Just wondering if any progress has been made.

I also wrote in the same thread that it's on hold for the TV show, which is making great progress.

The DVD's are still on the drawing board, but that's all for right now.

Yeah, I like the DVDs but these are definitely the BASICS! But fun to watch either way. Can't wait for the Broadsword DVD!

Sounds like you could make a fortune on positon DVDs, Dewy. I understand that the TV show takes priority one, but the rest of us need to start training for the SPPL!

How far are you on the Cammander DVD? Slap some footage of you telling your coworkers to get you a Coke, throw a label on it and SELL IT TO ME!
