I want to get an APE board because it comes already with a membrane pad and does the same things as virtue but i want to get virtue(or whatever else i can find) eyes so that i won't chop. will the APE board use eyes that aren't from the same company?

They are cross-compatible, but they all do the same thing.
One brand of LED/sensor and board isn't going to keep you from chopping any more than another.

The Ion comes with "eyes" so you don't need to add them to get anti-chop capability.

How the signal from the "eyes" gets interpreted is all up to the software that is in the main board, whether it's stock, Blackheart, APE, Virtue, etc., and they all do a great job of anti-chop.

yeah I think I had a similar question in the lines

is the Virtue eyes any better than the stock ones? or do they just make the cool laser glow inside your gun so you can match your supped up Nissan with the neon lighting on the bottom?

Some people say the light lets them know when the eyes are not working. But IMHO its all for show you know when the eyes are working or not.

alright thanks for the clear up, and sorry for the thread jacking

but while I'm already jacking I'll ask one last question

is there any eyes out for the ION that will improve performance, and reduce chopping more so than the stock eyes?

all about squeezing the last drop of performance out of a marker haha

No, there isn't, because regardless of what you use, the Ion will not chop unless you use very old, poor quality paint. No matter what eyes you use, the Ion will not chop a ball because it fires before the ball is completely in the firing chamber.
