How do I do it? I have wiped everything down with a damp paper towel and run water over many things, but I am not sure what to do now. Should I use Break-Free or what?

If the person on the other end of your gun does not walk away from the game eagerly anticipating the next game because of your actions, you have failed as a paintballer. Put this in your sig to help spread the word.

Sorry, it is a Tippman 98c, I got used.
Oh, one more question (actually two)
You know that little screw inside that changes the FPS? Does turning it right make it go upo and left down, or the other way?
Also, my balls yesterday were really weird. They would shoot out but than have massive curvage.

Well with a 98c you can just whip it off and put a few drops oil in the asa. Then air it up and let the oil cycle through WITH OUT a barrel on.

Also make sure it is approve paintball oil. I like to use Gold Cup.

Also I sudget to sometimes take it apart and whipe all the parts down and rub some oil on them.

Here is a link the the 98c user manual.

Screwing it to the left/out will make it shoot at a higher FPS because it lets more are through. And it just the opposite for screwing it in.

Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol/Water mixture, 2:8 respectively. Get a spray bottle and fill it with that mixture, and keep it in your gearbox. Get some lint-free glass cloths and q-tips and you're set.

DO NOT USE BREAK-FREE ON ANY MARKER. it is a solivent used to clean the carbon out of break systems. it will destroy your markers internals. it is great for a real rifle but on anything like a paintball gun dont use it.

If the bolts are rusted use some WD-40 or penetrating lube on just the bolts DON'T use it on any internal parts(it ruins o-rings). Let it soak in then try to loosen repeat as necessary. To prevent this from occuring again click on the link in my sig $4 for "Peace of mind".
Once it's apart give it a good cleaning.

A word on the velocity adjustor, simply because i think it is important for everyone to know how these things work. The velocity adjustor is simply a screw that creates turbulence in the air flow, redirecting some of the air's force.

My dad uses break free on his guns. I think its gun stuff.

Look for stickies in the Tippmann section, for about polishing internals. It will help your gun work smoother.

Good post, I use this stuff on all my markers also. like you said there is nothing like having to drill out a stripped out screw that is recessed. I started to use this stuff back in the late 90's. fellas it does work .
