This will be an ongoing project of mine, one of many to be honest. I work a lot every week so this will be basically an updated journal of my modding progress of this Mil Sim Tippmann 98 Custom.

Firstly here is what I have already for the Marker. (Please note that this will be an M16 variant Tippmann 98 Custom)

Current Modifications:

  • .688 Dye Ultralite 12" 98 Custom Barrel (includes front and back)
  • Leapers UTG Iden Image 38mm Red Green Dot Sight
  • RAP4 Vertical Folding RIS Foregrip
  • Response Trigger Kit
  • A.C.T
  • TechT Zero Tippmann Kick Hammer (soon will be TechT A.C.T Tippmann Zero Kick Hammer)
  • Tippmann 98 Custom AR-15 Folding Collapsible Stock
  • Tippmann Model 98 Cyclone Feed System

Looks dope. That barrel looks way too long though, probably be more air efficient and just as accurate and more manuverable if you chopped it down. And why have a folding stock if air is out the rear anyway? You should go vert air...

...Or remote line. And 14 inches is the way to go. It's the velocity sweet-spot. :)

Well, on second thought, that's a drop-forward, so that's not gonna be awkward like the stock ASA would be. I used to have a similar setup on a 98 Custom w/stock. So, it's golden. :)

(But that 14 inch rule still remains... :P)

Well I do have a 10" Ultralite barrel so I can switch it out. Plus it would probably make it a lot easier to maneuver when it comes to turning and shooting and just the overall movement of the marker will improve. Thanks. :)

I do have a remote line. That drop forward probably won't be on the final piece. I'll do different looks and post it up when I get everything bought and attached.

Dont know if its been mentioned, but an X7 hopper would sleek it up a bit, and add some more cool :)

I like the stock also. Nice touch with the green.

I'll take a picture with that up.

Would the hopper look better in the green?

Maybe, but it sure isn't the manuverability sweet spot...

I wouldn't say so, it might not be as bad as the standard asa, but the tank is still gonna be sticking way out past the rear of the gun when that stock is folded over, kinda defeating the purpose of having the folding stock.

Remote line, vert air, or forward facing tank; thats the only way you're going to get your manuverability's worth out of that folding stock...

Awesome that's what I was thinking. Here's an idea, go with the 10 inch or the 12 whichever you prefer, but carry a stub nose for close quarters too. The threads on the 98 are thick enough it shouldn't take too long at all to switch on field, and it'd be the ultimate in manuverability when you need it.

I think the color scheme looks good as is. It's like 50/50 green and black, wouldn't look as balanced if the hopper was green too...

I don't know what he means but I let my thumb wander a little once and got smacked pretty good by the handle. I always thought it would be good to have some kind of gaurd around the lower portion and rear. So you can still easily reach and cock it from the side/above, but don't have to worry about your hand getting in its way.

Can't wait for the pics,

In the meantime you should post up a couple of the current setup with the stock folded!

Woot! I heart folding stocks! That's a good one too, folding AND telescoping. Mine is just the G36 folder so can't custom fit it. It's all good though, use it enough and it starts to feel natural fast.

Have you calibrated your red dot yet?

EDIT:
Come to think of it, I used to have the same optic sight. Watch those pins in the hinges on the lenscovers they'll fall out on you. Maybe put a little cap of super glue over them. Also if you don't like them sticking up and bouncing around, you can turn them upside down so the cover opens and the spring tension holds it flat against the gun. Also watch the caps the whole thing will fall off the end after a while, lost both of mine :(

Have you considered those new mag feed kits?

I had it set perfect but it will change once I get the M4 Carry Handle. It's red and green dot. :)

EDIT: I was thinking of the mag fed kits for it. But not sure at the moment. I have friends that use them so I'll give them a try. If not I'll be using either Limited Ammo or Tac Caps in mil sim.
