I know goggles have to be replaced once or twice a year, but what is the best policy on covers?

I would say once a year or if somone totally lit the inside of it up. Check it after every day of play and see if theres ripping or the stiching is coming undone.

If it's still in sound condition then use it. You shouldn't really rate it based on a set time. If it is freying in 2 months and someone says they can last 2 years. replace it!

id personaly reccomend replacing it the day after the game you fire a ball into the barrel cover, consider it a self punishment to buy a newone for screwing up and firing your weapon in the staging area, it will teach ya to keep your finger off the trigger when it shouldnt be there

I always find myself doing it at the chrono while I'm turning the marker off (If its a electro atleast).

Now I'd like to point out Tygers barrel safety videos.

Very good stuff, and it explains about when its time to replace a bag.

after every day of play, turn it inside out(if you can, i know some can be tough) and rinse it off, after it dries check the seams for signs of wear(ripping, fraying, ect.) if every thing looks good then you should be fine. but if you see even the slightest bit of wear ide replace it...better to be safe than sorry.
