In many places, yes, suppressors are illegal. In others, suppressors are restricted. Discussions regarding the fabrication of suppressors is not allowed here, so take care.

I'm not saying you did...just offering some friendly advice. Suppressor discussions within this forum typically turn out badly.

He called it a "mock suppressor" in the vid. He basically stuffed cotton batting in the shroud as insulation. He thinks this reduces the sound. I dunno if it does or not, but I'm guessing it is not illegal. It does not function the way a true suppressor does...

Ppl have suggested wrapping things around barrels several times here as a way of reducing noise, but I really doubt their effectiveness. Same with this guy. The report out the end of the barrel is unchanged, which is why this is in no way a suppressor.

I think the law is if it noticeably dampens the sound, it is a suppressor and illegal. You can thank gun control for that.

if it can be adaptded to a firearm, it is illegal. There was a thread a while back where a memeber actually got permission from the ATF to have one, all it took was a letter asking them about it I think
