what we did (we had 4 wanna-be's)
1. tell contestant #1 to go out in the bush with his gun... his objective, ambush 3 of you.. next you and two other judges go out and walk through until: he shoots you without being spotted, or you spot and shoot him. .. then contestants #2,3,4,5,etc.
give a point's system .. like 5 points for shooting first (wasn't spotted) and 2 point for each person hit,, then (if he hits all three of you) 2 points for each shoot less than 10 to do it... -2 points if you get him
example.. you didn't see him, he shoots first.. hits all three of you, and fired 6 shots .. thats (5)+(6)+(4)-(0)=15points
or .. your spot him and unload, after a little firefight he gets one of you after firing 10+ shots, then you hit him... that's (0)+(2)+(0)-(2)=0points
2. play red light green light with them .. go out in the woods, or where ever you play... play with one wanna-be at a time on a 75'long X 30ft wide "course".. the judge stands at one end, then the contestant stands at the other.. do not let the judge see where along the back of the course he starts... but put a guy back there to make sure he starts at the back and not half way up... then play redlight green light.. rules: judge keeps his back to the sniper and periodically turns around for 5 seconds to see if he can spot the sniper approaching him... have a second judge keep judge #1 honest on the 5 seconds... and you DON'T have to yell RED LIGHT OR GREEN LIGHT.. since in painball the enemy is NOT that accomodating... anyhow, who ever gets the closest wins! .. o and give the judge a loaded paintball marker for motivation
3. next target shooting,,, give each guy 10 rounds for each distance... go with 40ft, 50ft, 60ft, and 70ft , and shoot them out of order.. so 50 first, then 40, then 70 then 60, ... give 1 point for each hit
4. out in the bush or wherever you play... put 6 or so bright coloured flags and 3 players to patrol, for each flag the sniper can procure award 2 points, for each player he eliminates, award 2 points, for each shot under ten he takes to procure all of them award 4 points, if he get's shot -2
so example: if he gets 5 flags, took 9 shots, eliminated 2 players but got shot before he got #6 flag ... thats: (10)+(4)+(4)-(2)= 16 points
.. these test are "what a sniper does" ... this is what we did.. i tied with my buddy, so we're both snipers now .. nobody argued with the results and now they're all beter players because they all learned leasons during the whole ordeal.
