Just wondering what are some of the popular options are out there for additional protection around the back and top of the head. I've used a backwards baseball cap but it doesn't really protect the back of my neck that well. Any suggestions?

A sandana works well for most people.

I had a similar question awhile back and searched through the old threads and found this:
http://forum.specialopspaintball.com/index...11202&st=15

I looked at what people said and came across this link:
http://myworld.ebay.ca/karinvail

I liked what I saw and got one for paintball and have loved it. She makes amazing camo paintball caps. They cover your entire head, have a floppy bill in back to protect your neck, and are fully padded. I give it a 9 / 10. Check her store out she probably has something that will work for you.

I wear a backwards black basball cap, a neck protector but over that I have a really thin, lightweight, and breathable SWAT Balklava, I wear that because paint doesnt taste very good ;) , hope that helps.

I use my head to protect my head. :dodgy:

Seriously though, I use a JT Headshield. It helps. I do want to upgrade to the flex 8 headshield though.

I have a doo rag (the old fashioned bandana tied into a hat kind) , A beanie I wear, and multiple sandanas, most sandanas won't protect you from the pain of a back of the neck shot, but they do something much more useful to someone in a hot area like me (coughfrickinsummeryearroundcough), they can keep your neck from getting sunburned, which is imo worse than a back of the neck shot.

I wear a headwrap mainly as a sweatband. You get used to headshots.

I wear a head band and a bandanna. It's all I've ever needed... honestly if you are getting shot in the back of the head... you're doing something wrong. Some friends have told me how caps have actually made getting shot on the top of the head worse...that little nub on the top is pretty hard!

I used to wear a headband/bandanna folded into a headband, but recently I've come to just wear my mask without anything else on my head. (unless 10rnds in my mask strap counts :ghillie:)

I actually wear a hat to make my mask fit better. I guess I have a small head? I wear a beanie.

I have a headwrap, but I use it mostly for a sweatband. They also occasionally deflect shots (i.e. getting shot in the back of the head while walking to dead box, I don't get shot in the back of the head while playing...) and protect your neck somewhat. I've never gotten shot in the back of the neck, so I don't know.

Shemagh, beanie, baseball hat, nothing! its all the same to me. I determine what I wear based on the heat. If its cold, Ill go with a beanie/shemagh if its hot, baseball hat or nothing. I havent seen any head gear that has been used for deflecting shots. More for protection and warmth.

I have a pretty big camo mesh sheet that I tied to fit my head. It's ventilates nicely and is long enough to double as a shroud or gun wrap when you need some camouflage.
