What about an ACTUAL medic not a position but someone with at least a first aid cert . We get banged up and it would be nice to have at least a minimally trained person w/ gear to tend to our injuries. I am an EMT and I am always treating injuries at my local field ranging from cuts and scrapes to turned ankles w/ my own kit. (the field owner now has his own kit and has a few trained personnel working there) In some cases field owners may get a insurance break for having "first response" personnel at an event.

That's not a paintball position. That's a real-world certification and/or occupation.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My sig is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My sig, without me, is useless. Without my sig, I am useless. I must type my sig true. I must spell better than my enemy who is trying to judge me. I must type before he ridicules me. I WILL... My sig and I know that what counts in this forum is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the splatter we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT... Before the Admins, I swear this creed. My sig and myself are the defenders of my forum. We are the masters of our enemy. WE ARE THE SAVIORS OF MY PROFILE. - Tippmann Owner #pi

I see yout points on this thing. but would a granadier be concidered exotic because they use a paintball m-203 either as a stand alone weapon or mounted to a marker. because essentialy an m-203 for paintball is an over sized shotgun shooting out paintballs like buckshot. So isn't that concidered a specialty position or just an add on?

I think the idea of a grenadier is ok. It would just be the guy who has an on gun launcher and likes to throw grenades more than others.

But basically all that the "positions" should come down to is a a categorization of an individuals style of play. I like the idea of having something to call yourself but I think people are trying to make new positions so they can change there style of play. YOU CAN PLAY HOWEVER YOU WANT! and if your style and marker and attitude fit a Spec ops category than great. You can call yourself a Dagger if you like to bunker and like CQB but that doesn't mean you cant suppress for your team and ambush like a sniper. This doesn't make you some special new position. I have bunkered people with a gillie on. I wear the gillie because I can crawl around and "snipe" people with it. i have got one shot kills because of it But I Like CQB. I guess that makes me a sabre! No. Im just some kid who will do whatever it takes to win. Some days the ghille helps. some days I wear it but don't use it at all, and some days I don't wear it but I still crawl around and get "three shot one kill" ambush eliminations.

Call yourself what you what you want. No one will beat you if you do something that doesn't fit your "position" but if your "commander" or "team leader" or the "guy who yells at everyone" tells the guy who likes CQB with the short barrel to clear a room he should do it. Structure in a team is important. Having something easy to refer to a group of people as. EX: "all the sabres wait for my mark, daggers stack up on that door, and snipers go find out what is over that ridge" Is practical and much easier to say than " ok dan bob joe jim rufus stacy alex dirk and derrick and erik, do this and go there....etc...."

Just don't stress out if how you want to play itsnt perfectly defined by spec ops.

I was thinking about this and i could have missed it but i didn't see this idea for a new position yet, i was thinking a position sort of like recon, but not entirely. It's the Sniper's best friend, his eyes, the "Spotter". Someone who calls out target, and enemy defenses he's equiped like a light rifeman, with enough power that if they're identified he can help defend the sniper so he's not "high n dry", and can hit targets at a reasonable distance if needed, this player is to keep constant communication with his team an feed back info on the enemy, knowing where the enemy is and how to engauge them is the key and communication is a huge part of that.

I agree; Armored personnel would be a nice position, excluding tanks.

Now ive seen this as a joke many a time....
A decoy
I mean it would make a great position
Light gun
Heavy armor and just RUN and make a bunch of noise
It would be great for adrenaline junkies, right?
yes this is kinda a joke but it would be cool
for a guy on your team only be there to distract

Yea, I agree with HellStorm.

SpecOps shouldn't make new positions, because the ones now are just guidelines, or ideas. You should find your own style of play, the one that's specific to you.

You should define your position by how you play, you shouldn't define how you play by your position.

i totally agree, i dont want too go around saying hey lets make a 9337711 position and no one knows what it is! so why have hundreds of positions that no one has any idea what it is so why make a new position. most positions are 'roles' used in scenario games which is find "FOR THE SCENARIO GAME" but why make that a position you cannot position yourself too be a task force ranger dedicated too destroy 8 180MM guns on a beach when you are playing a walk on game its just absurd. i do like too read in these sections too give a new look or other peoples creative ideas about roles or positions they are thinking of.
