I want to buy this barrel:

http://www.smartpart...tore/Freak.aspx

I can buy it in 12", 14", 16".

I want accuracy mainly but range is also important, what is the difference in preformance of these barrel lengths??

And if anyone already has this barrel, what is best, all american or the freak barrel end??

If you want accuracy and range a 14 inch will probably do it. Once you're past 14 inches you lose range but gain accuracy, or vise versa I can't remember. I use a 14 and it works beautifully. Don't go with me only though get a few more opinions, I could be wrong. With what barrel to buy (Freak or all American) I have no idea.

A 14 inch barrel will have no differance from a 16 in distance or accuracy. The first eight inches of a barrel will "aim" the ball while the rest is to let co2 escape. So the longer the barrel the quiter it may be.

I had a cp one piece, one 12 and one 14 or 16. The 16 was by more accurate and after I sold it I kicked myself. Now I have a stiffi and don't care.

Well, if I were to buy one, I would go with the 12 inch. A 12 inch barrel is like the average, shoot fast but stay accurate barrel. Really there is no average barrel but if you are a serious sniper go with the 14. It looks cool because it's long and does the same thing as a 12. Personally, assuming you have a fast shooting tourny marker I would go with a 12 inch. That would be the one I'd buy. Really it's your opinion. GO WITH THE 12!!!

If you want to give yourself a picture or something go to "my controls" at the top of the page, and you can change what it says below it under edit my profile info, and change your member title. ;)

I would go with the 12 in. as 14 in. is really no difference just makes your gun more difficult to fit in tight spots. As far as barrel i would check actionvillage and get a barrel kit because accuracy is paint to bore size matchup. The empire 7 piece would be nice and it only costs like $65.

I don't see how I am wrong...I would rather base advice from personal knowledge than a site like that.

You're right too, but only partly wrong, even though that site is a little geekishly "well according to my calculations" 'ish it is right. The longer the barrel the more CO2/N2 the gun uses. I'll call a truce we were both right in our own little ways. :o

The only advantge a 16 inch barrel provides is it is SLIGHTLY quieter. Other than that no advantage, I prefer a 12 or 14 inch barrel.
