I have a slide-check remote line, and between games, I was attempting to disconnect my gun from my hose for a quick field strip. While trying to separate the male/female connector (for lack of better term, sorry), my hand slipped and knocked the slide check into a half-open position. The air in my tank blew out the O-ring inside my slide check before a friend turned off the air at my tank. Yes, I was stupid enough to forget to depressurize the line before trying to disconnect.

The slide check fails to function without the O-ring. How can I repair my it? Do I need to disassemble the slide, and what tools would I need if I did?

Thanks for any help.

Depending on the type/model of slide check there may be 3 o-rings. A small ring in the connector and bottle o-rings in the actual slide.

From your description I would guess it is one of the 2. This video should help:

Thanks for your help - the video did have the same type of slide check, and I was able to identify the O-ring I lost from some of the pictures he showed. I guess I have to go get some new O-rings, now!

Thanks to everyone who put in advice. While it took some thought and devious engineering (no o-ring pick on hand? Easily bent, thin paperclips work!), I have successfully replaced the O-ring in my quick disconnect (finally remembered the term :P) and my gun shoots great again. Just in time for my scenario game this weekend!
