I programmed this game along with a class-mate and was just hoping a few of you could play a game or two. It is a Java applet so you'll need to enable whatever to play it. I'm just looking to see if anyone can find errors in the game or not. Post feedback here please.

I'm on Firefox 3.6.3 as well and it works fine. Make sure you've got a JRE (Java Runtime Environment) installed. Its not a flash game.

It's not bad. Pretty bland, but passable. Was this a first attempt at making a game?

EDIT: Here are a few ways to improve it: in the text box, tell the person what's being placed and how it's being placed. It took me the third game before I realized the order that the boats were appearing in and where they were being placed on the grid. Something small, but it'd make for a huge improvement.

BOG, that was the most annoying thing I have ever had to endure, and I once watched a whole Teletubbies episode. - Hobo
I don't have MAJOR problems. I have minor annoyances that YOU consider major problems.

First time making a "game" but I've done a lot of other apps like online calendars, mail clients etc. For example I'm required to basically remake twitter in two weeks for a different class. Prof is kind of a moron assigning it this late but whatever, who can't learn JSF, Java Mobile apps and MySQL connections in two weeks?

It was a project for a software class where the only real requirement was that it required abstract data-types and generics in the code. It initially was a console app but the prof came to us about 5 days before it was due and said we had to convert it to a web app. Ideally there'd be much more "G" in its "GUI".

Mostly I was looking for someone on these forums to play it and try to break it... BETA tester of sorts. I did my presentation on it yesterday so its only up for entertainment until my partner decides to take it off her webpage.
