the ODST Tattoo is the Jappanes (?) smybol for bad buttocks. you'll have to have 2 different smybols one for bad and one for buttocks

No I don't know him. Hell I'm not even sure that's the right tattoo. I don't play or read Halo.

Well the tattoo referred to in the books had a skull and comet. I'll see if I can find the description.

Time to get my nerd on! I think its called the Heretic Symbol. Its what the Prophets had burned into the Arbiter's skin because he failed to safeguard the Halo that Chief (who, after seeing a certain cut scene in Halo Wars, forever looks like a cuddly kitten in comparison now) destroyed by detonating the Autumn's fusion reactors. :P

As for the ODST symbol they put on Keyes during the book "The Cole Protocol", I would have to go through and re-read it, which isn't such a terrible proposition. Good book.

Fester, I believe the ODST tattoo and the tattoo they put on Keys are different. The one Hollywood is looking for is the ODST tattoo every ODST gets as a member of the branch (skull and commet), and I believe the tattoo the put on Keys was something that said or meant "bad-butt" that would tell any other ODST that Keys was to be helped out if he needed it (I think it was almost like a Japenese symbol, but I'd have to go re-read Cole Protocol). Maybe I'll look that up tonight and see what I can find.

Wow... I feel like such a nerd because I recognize everything that's being discussed right now... Those are some great books, and I may be able to (super nerd alert) look through my Halo art book to find the tattoo, but it's at home right now. I'll look it up Friday night after my doctors appointment and see if I can figure it out.

The ODSTs have a tattoo on their wrist that means "DO NOT DODGE THE FILTER". It's a single japanese symbol that starts with a K.
I'll have to search it for you.
Then there is the ODST patch, which you obviously won't be able to put on your helmet. That is just of an ODST falling through space with some stars and a moon. He a cartoon like other military patches.

That's the Mark Of Shame in the picture. I remember from reading The Fall Of Reach a long time ago that the Comet was SUPPOSED to be the Spartan symbol.

Also, I really want the ODST symbol on my behind. That would be mega win. :dodgy:

It's the Mark of Shame, actually, it was branded on the Arbiter at the beginning of Halo 2.
