So to add onto my A-5A2 i bought a raised rail with an NcStar holo sight. I zeroed it in and went out and played with it last Saturday. This thing is amazing. I zeroed mine at 35 yards and it is dead on. I got double the kills i usually get and the reticle is very bright. It also has 4 different reticles including a dot, crosshair, circle with a dot in the center, a the cirlce with a crosshair. This is one of the best upgrades you can get in my opinion.

i was thinking about getting one. How does it work in bright sun light, since it is an open sight, right?

I had one and it was horrible. Could NOT see it outside, even with a brand new battery.

Don't look for that sight to last too long. I installed several different types of sights, all red dots of differing brands, and they have all withstood multiple shots. Whereas this particular sight took 1 hit and it died. Now, I do not advise for you folks to go out and start shooting sights, but for the money you could buy 2 cheaper, though tougher, sights with approximately the same amount of money. Maybe I got a lemon, but either way I will not go back to this one again. That being said, I hope yours has a long and fulfilling life.

I bought the same type of sight, just from a different company and it is awesome. Yukon makes one of them that is practically the same, but has a much larger lens, and I like it a lot more. I can see the dot under the brightest conditions and it has taken hits from practically everywhere and it has held up perfectly. I got it from www.opticsforyou.com

Can the OP post a link to where and what sight he bought? Are you talking about the $100 one on opsgear, or the $30 on ebaybanned, or the various other $70 stuff?..

I just bought one off of milsimproducts.com for $70, so I dont' feel too bad about that, better than specops $100 one at least. Where I play all of my scenario ball is heavily tree-covered, so I doubt the sun will do much.

I got the NcStar DB4 holo with the variable brightness and four crosshairs. It worked wonderfully, until I tried adjusting my elevation.

*Snap*

The screw was designed poorly. Instead of there being a consistent diameter, for a mm of the length, the diameter was dramatically reduced, creating a weak point. A cutout for some disc or something. It snapped there like a twig when I put pressure on it in addition to to the springs providing resistance to the sight from the mount.

I'm creating my own simpler and much more durable solution of a nut and a bolt, but still, a little disappointed I have to engineer my own solution.
Jesus may have walked on water... But I can run! That's just how epic I am.
