Just wanted to drop a quick word about this particular barrel. When I first took it out in the field I wasn't quite sure how it would perform compared to a "regular" barrel. Regular in my opinion being any barrel between 12 and 14 inches.

I was equally impressed and surprised at how well the xShort barrel performed. The range and accuracy was equal to if not just a tad bit better than my 12" (I know that doesn't sound correct but it seemed that way). And it was great for use in a particular part of the field I found myself in quite a bit, the trenches. I noticed that I was able to come around corners, with my marker up, without making awkward adjustments. Popping up or around bunkers was much easier, obviously, but so much easier that I was able to trade more shots with my opponent and thus increased my opportunities for making good hits. I counted more kills with the xShort than with my regular barrel. I believe that the cause can be attributed to the fact that it was just simply faster to bring my marker up or around obstacles and/or bunkers.

So if you're wondering if the xShort is a good investment, I think it is. Especially if you like to play it up close and on the front lines.

By the way, I had this barrel on my A5A2 using an HPA tank as the air source.

I have one on my M98, and I carry one in my vest for my A5, I have to agree that it's a nice little barrel.

This has helped me alot. I was thinking about getting one of these barrels for the reasons you stated.
I play Light Riflemen, and I'm starting to see that Spec Ops has good reasoning for recomending a short barrel for this position on a team.

On my next order from Spec Ops the JCS 5.5 WILL BE on my list......... ;)

I was wondering if I should buy it or not, I most likely will now.

I hate long barrels.

Thanks.

I used a JCS 5.5 for about the last six months. It is real accurate once you learn to use it. It also gives an awesome report.

I got it and it seems to work ok. But i honestly cant tell the difference between it and my stock barrel. In my opinion, it would be better to save 10 more dollars and get a ceramic barrrel.

I love this barrel about as much as I love my J&J Ceramics! (that's ALOT)

Great for CQB, decent report, and really, there's not enough barrel for paint-to-bore sizing to matter! (IMO)

I've got one for my 98c and A-5 as well, and they both look pretty sick

So because I play scenarios, I won't buy a high-end unless it has rails at useless angles, and has a machine-gun shroud bolted on it?-Maduce
