Can't afford to mod the marker without the day job. Can't find the time to mod the marker with the day job. Explicative.

@IKE yeah, I figured as much but I had to say it, cause it's the opposite of what the goodguy says to the badguys after he beats them up in every corny '90's action move, "Don't quit your day job!"

Seriously Jack? Still no pics :P

This is my brothers 4" barrel. Notice that he has filed down the rear. He as filed it down just enough so he can thread it onto his marker.

And hear is my 12" ported barrel( I inserted a red light to enhance the port holes). I had no need ot file down the reciever end of my barrel because the Stryker barrels come glued into the marker. I broke the glue bond and removed the barrel. Thankfully the CPVC fits nicely in place.

The next pic is of the inside of the barrel. Now I have done no cleaning to is so pardon the fuzz you might see. But this is the "factory" shine on the inside. With some pipe clearer, I can make it shine more.

Oh, sorry, forgot to get a shot of the ball inside the barrel. Be back in 5

OK, hears a ball in the receiver end of the barrel. Not exactly an tight fit, but it dose need a slight push to make it down to the end of the barrel.

Oh, and thats power on the ball, it prevents ball stickage.

Finally! Awesome mods, do the balls tend to stick in that barrel?

But there are no actual threads....so is it a friction fit? How the H does it stay? I guess it is pretty short and not likely to be bumped as much as a longer one, but still.

Did you glue the ported one into your pump? Or is it friction fit?

BTW both look pretty awesome!

Nope, glide right out like a store bought one. The only thing you have to look out for is that sometimes there is a center ridge line that runs down the pipe, but I havent seen the pipe makers do that in years.

Actually he filed it down so that the marker threads could grab, and grab they did. I have played with it for sever games, and he has too, and no movement( notice all the scratches from stickers and sticks)

And the 12" barrel is (right now) friction fit. I use a single layer of copy paper wrapped around it to add friction. It stays fine, but yah I will glue it in in the end, again the gun is under construction.

Since it's plastic the metal threads in the marker will have no trouble actually cutting into it. So I don't do it's fairly solid.

Ah yes friction fit, with paper! The 1/4 turn barrel adapter in the A-5 is made so that it only works if you practically take the whole gun apart anyway. You have to completely loosen all the forward bolts to use it.

So in order to make it work as a tool free in field 1/4 turn quick change I actually had to route out the inside of the socket on the marker. I did it by loosening the bolts just enough so that I could barely turn the flatline in it. Then I just kept turning it back and forth until it worked out the inside so it was loose, then I just tightened the bolts a little so it was hard to turn again, and worked it until it got loose again. Kept doing that until eventually I could almost freely rotate and remove the barrel with the bolts tightened completely down. And that worked fine. Until I lost my stubnose.

Then there was no reason to have the grip and tac light mounted to the body of the gun anymore so I moved them forward onto the Flatline RIS, but then that was really loose so not a good place to have a grip.

Fixed the problem by just putting a little piece of paper in the socket to tighten the fit. Has worked perfectly ever since. But now that I'm about to make a new stubnose I'll be putting the attachments back on the gun and getting rid of that paper!

LOL, love simple fixes

Had the same issue with my A5. I just took out the oring and filed down the adapter a pit. I tighten the barrel a little tighter than usual, then use the barrel for more grabing point and remove the adapter that way.

Why not use plumber's tape (teflon tape) instead of paper? I mean, the paper is cool, but teflon is waterproof.
