This is the first I've heard of this...

Are you sure the grip was an Ion grip and not another type?

Hmm...get some water and put it in a pot...heat the water, then put the grip in there...dont let it touch the bottom of the pan, hold it with some BBQ thongs...keep it in there about 5 mins then pull it out and see if it fits...make sure you dry it off first...

Actually, just loosen the screws on the other other side of the frame, and them screw them in.

What grip did you get?
98% of the people on this forum will say that tippmann pwns all. If you are one of the 2% that disagrees put this in your sig.

few things...

One- boiling it works, or just streching the grip will do, i've seen this probalmen alot.

Two- dont put locktite on those skrews you need to take them out to get the board out without damageing it,

Three- you called Doc a panda, and he's Clearly a Polar Bear (aka Alaskan Airsmith, www.The-whiteboard.com )

Simple mistaken ID on his part.

But I had the same problem as you. The grips don't fit right simply because they haven't been on the gun frame. They are still in the factory shape.

As soon as they have been on the gun a while and stretch they will fit like they are supposed to.
