I know this has been discussed at length in many forums in many threads....

With that being said my vote is for the Apex. The flatline is harder on paint and a lot more maintenance. I've always found the Apex to be better, especially since it seems like the flatline is pretty much outdated, and the Apex is what was replacing it. However, I think you should check out a Straightline!

Again, a controversial barrel - many people contend that rifling CANNOT work with paintballs, but all the reviews I've seen from people who actually HAVE TRIED the Straightline say it works excellently.

Try before you buy, if you can.

I vote Apex for one reason, you can turn it off if you want to!

Ive shot both the flatline and APEX and i'd go APEX because..

When i did flatline it wasn't to consistent and the accuracy didn't impress me but the range was nice.

As for the APEX, it had Good accuracy and surprisingly good range and with the APEX you can choose what barrel sixe you want so...

GO APEX!!

I'd say Apex. My reasoning for that is simple. Like Tenacious said, you can turn it off, and with a little bit of ingenuity you can put the Apex tip on a quality barrel.
