I've heard conflicting opinions of what a sniper is.
IMHO a paintball sniper is a player that flanks, goes deep into enemy territory, lays in wait for an ambush, and generally doesn't shoot much. I consider myself a sniper and for playing six hours I didn't empty a nine oz tank. This was a 17 v. 17 game. A paintball gun is only accurate for so far, depending on the gun.

Other opinions I have heard on a paintball sniper is that it is someone who shoots only long shots.

I am wondering what the general consensus on snipers is. Please explain your answer.

Just a tip, dont limit your self to positions, explore the forums, and just call your self a "Paintballer", not a sniper

Yeah, I felt very noob-like and confused because I had no idea what to call myself when I signed up for the Brigade.

Many, MANY people will suggest NOT limiting yourself to the positions the the Brigade offers. They aren't too bad if you use them as a playing style guideline type of thing, but just be an overall useful paintball player, wreak havoc, and enjoy.

Ghille and all that bull just slows you down, and so do the unessecary mods. We could all think of the perfect scenario where all that stuff would be perfect...but it never happens.

You'll wind up running around and shooting ropes like everyone else.

Hold up, Not all snipers are noobs... There are a handfull of people that play as snipers that get behind the enemy or set up well thought out ambushes. Although, yea, a majority of the "snipers" are noobs who dont want to get shot. You cant just say that ALL snipers dont do anything.

A sniper is a player who focuses his game on stealth and subtlety over firepower and aggression.
