Special Ops Collapsible Tool Bag

By Brian Russell AKA Moati

I don't know about the rest of you but I travel to a lot of games over the course of a year. When I do, I find it very difficult to decide which of my gear comes with me and what has to wait until next time and stay home. One of the things I don't dare go to a game without is my tool kit so that I'm prepared for anything that could limit my playing time. The problem is, the box I keep my tools in takes up so much of my gear bag, it cuts drastically down on the other gear I can take with me.

Special Ops Collapsible Tool Bag

I went to a game last month and a buddy of mine that is ex-army kept asking if he could borrow stuff from me. My answer over and over was "I didn't have room to bring that with me". Well he finally gets frustrated and comes over to look in my gear bag for himself and he's amazed with the fact that my tool box is taking up around 25% of my space! So we do a little brainstorming and he tells me about a bag he was issued in the army that he still uses today. It's a medium sized multi compartment bag that he uses for a shaving kit. We thought that if we built something similar but with the right sized compartments, it would be a great collapsible tool kit.

So when I got home, I immediately went to work with my R&D Department. We used some nice heavy-weight cordura to build three zippered compartments that roll up to make one package. There are two 50 cubic inch compartments and one 100 cubic inch compartment. I found that it was so easy to fit all my tools in that I still had left over space so we used some heavy duty nylon webbing and added some compression straps around it. This way, if I use less than the 300 cubic inches of storage, I just tighten the compression straps and not only does it save me some space in my gear bag but it secures the tools so they're not moving around and possibly damaging my other gear. I've even found tons of other uses for it even simply as an all purpose travel bag.

The Collapsible Tool Kit Bag has to be one of the coolest bags I've seen around and it's available only at Special Ops Paintball and select dealers.
